SENDAT Outreach (Janaury 2016)

The new Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Academy Trust (SENDAT) is a unique multi-academy trust focused on special schools and specialist provision. Led by two strong partners in The Priory School and West Suffolk College, its aim is to provide a coherent approach to Special Education services. SENDAT are the providers of the Outreach Service within Suffolk and The Ashley School Academy Trust are assisting SENDAT in the delivery of these services by providing the service to all schools within the North Suffolk area.

The Ashley School

The Ashley School has a small specialist team supporting children and young people in mainstream education. Our aim is to support children and young people to remain successfully within mainstream education wherever possible.

Our specialist Outreach Service provides support to meet children's and young people's identified learning and social and emotional needs through teaching new skills and by offering support to children and young people themselves (individually and in groups); families (individually and in groups) and mainstream school staff (regarding individual learners and through staff training). As a result most do remain in mainstream provision, a small number after intense support are referred for specialist placements including at The Ashley School Academy Trust.

Referrals from schools in North Suffolk should be made using the new "On-line Referral Form" through the SENDAT website which can be accessed here.
