A significant number of our students progress and make better achievements in expressive subjects, than traditional academic ones. We have invested in facilities to help make it possible for our students to achieve their potential.
We have a recently refurbished drama studio, complete with a modular stage, lighting and audio-visual equipment. Curtains have also been added to allow us to divide the space if necessary. Each year we have a number of productions, ranging from nativity scenes, through to The Lion King, Oliver and Peter Pan; all performed by our students for their parents.
Our drama studio is used weekly by Funtastic Futures, a community group specialising in drama, dance and performance. For contact details relating to Funtastic Futures, please get in touch with the School Office.
We also have Cheerleading and Dancing lunchtime clubs that make use of this space.
Our music room is one of many specialist areas around the school, and is equipped with an interactive whiteboard to help teach musical concepts to our students. This great facility helps our students to practice, so they are able to sing and perform at events such as the Oulton Broad Christmas Lights Switch-on, Local care homes, and even at the annual celebration of schools’ music at Snape. We also have a good selection of multi-cultural percussion instruments, including african drums, and hand bells.
Specialist music lessons are arranged as needed; currently we have students working on brass, keyboards and percussion.
